This was another laughably bad call by one of MLB’s worst umps.

Laz Díaz is one of the umpires in Major League Baseball that fans know all too well. That isn’t a good thing for an umpire because if you’re good at your job, you should go virtually unnoticed for your entire career.

That can’t be said for Díaz, who is right up there with Ángel Hernandez for being the worst ump in professional baseball.

Last week Díaz was part of a viral moment when Yankees manager Aaron Boone mocked him during an argument that led to Boone’s ejection.

Then over the weekend Díaz missed an embarrassing 15 calls while working behind home plate in a Dodgers-Royals game.

Díaz kept his bad streak going Monday night in San Diego when he missed an obvious call at first base that was quickly corrected by an official review.
