Kirk Cousins Made Cringeworthy Attempt to Griddy at Vikings Practice
In the 2002 horror film The Ring, viewers of a cursed video receive a phone call telling them they will meet their untimely end in seven days time and are then haunted by a sinister entity. We’re not saying that the video below of Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins doing the “Griddy” will have a similar effect, but viewers should be warned: Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
During a drill at Minnesota’s practice on Thursday, Cousins ran a route against air and caught a pass before strolling into the end zone. It was there that he busted out, ever so briefly, his interpretation of the popular dance move.
Entering his 12th NFL season, Cousins has cultivated a reputation for himself as having, as he himself has described it, “no swag.” That hasn’t prevented him from having success on the field, with four Pro Bowl selections and over $200 million in career earnings. It hasn’t even precluded him from off-field celebrity, as he was one of the subjects of Netflix’s popular documentary series Quarterback released earlier this year.
Time will tell if Cousins will get the chance to bust out his moves during a game this season. But if that opportunity comes, all we can do is brace ourselves for that display in high definition on a Sunday afternoon.
