Bryce Harper Had Perfect Celebration After Hitting Inside-the-Park Home Run

Harper celebrated his second career inside-the-park home run in style.

Phillies star Bryce Harper recorded an inside-the-park home run during the fifth inning of Monday’s tilt against the Giants, benefitting from a massive ricochet and a misplay from center fielder Wade Meckler in order to make it all the way around the bases.

Harper’s hit careened off the tall wall in center field before bouncing back into the outfield. Meckler was able to get to it before too long, but fumbled twice when trying to pick the ball up off the grass, enabling Harper to freely slide into home plate without a throw. 

Harper was flying around the base path, losing his helmet en route to home plate. After touching the plate at the conclusion of his theatric inside-the-park home run, Harper reacted with an epic celebration, standing up from his slide straight into a big shrug. 

The inside-the-park solo home run extended Philadelphia’s lead to 5-2, and they tacked on another run via a Bryson Stott double in the sixth inning.

Harper’s inside-the-parker was his second such home run of his career, with the other coming back in 2021. He’s now up to 10 homers on the season, though his latest one was certainly his most unorthodox.
