Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is not happy with his contract situation and would like a trade.

Indianapolis is keeping him for now, as general manager Chris Ballard believes that the team is not getting fair value in current trade proposals for the running back.

With the season weeks away and drama continuing to build around the running back and the state of the offense moving forward, enter team owner Jim Irsay. Irsay took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and created a birthday post for a very random former running back for the team—a move that was perceived by fans as a shot at Taylor.

“Happy birthday to RICKY WILLIAMS (2002-03). Ricky, at 5’7”, only played two seasons —but saved his best as a birthday gift for Tony Dungy and the great 2003 comeback at Tampa. 13 carries, 56 yds, 7 receptions —and two key TD runs,” Irsay posted.

By the way, it is not THE Ricky Williams, a former star running back at Texas, who played for multiple NFL teams throughout his career with solid success. The Ricky Williams Irsay speaks of played his college ball at Texas Tech and had 190 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his career.

The totally random post out of the blue had NFL fans going wild on social media. Here are some of the best reactions to Irsay’s post, which some fans believe was a shot at Taylor.
