Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman is still adjusting to his new role as an analyst on FS1’s Undisputed, but fans were left questioning one of his NBA takes on Wednesday.

The Lakers signed forward Christian Wood on Tuesday night on a two-year deal, so this was one of the show’s big talking points the following morning.

Sherman then shocked the audience when he decided to compare Wood to former Lakers forward Pau Gasol, who recently had his jersey retired by the organization. Needless to say, Gasol is a franchise legend, so fans weren’t necessarily too thrilled with Sherman comparing a player who’s never even made an All-Star team to a two-time NBA champion.

“Pau Gasol, a Lakers great, jersey just went in the rafters—during his Lakers career, he averaged 18 and 10, this boy coming in is averaging 18 and nine over the last three years, 38% shooting from three, like I feel like he’s going to be a great asset,” Sherman said.

Fans and media members on social media couldn’t believe what Sherman said, and they even began questioning if Sherman should be giving his opinion on NBA in the first place. Here’s some of the reactions.
