NFL Fans Were Confused After NBA Insider Shams Charania Broke Martavis Bryant News
Wide receiver Martavis Bryant was recently reinstated by the NFL, and now he’s reportedly set to make his return to the league after agreeing to join the Cowboys, in a news break first reported by renowned NBA insider Shams Charania.
Bryant is reportedly set to join Dallas’s practice squad after a successful visit and workout with the team on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old last played in the NFL in 2018 with the Raiders when he was handed an indefinite suspension from the league, which stemmed from multiple violations of the league’s substance of abuse policy. Bryant was reinstated from that suspension this weekend.
Typically, it would be an NFL insider such as Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport breaking the news of Bryant’s return to the league. Instead, it was Charania providing the first report that the Cowboys were signing the veteran wide receiver.
Fans on social media were extremely confused to see that Charania, the lead NBA insider for The Athletic, had forayed into football with a relatively big scoop.
