Late`90s Bad Boy Rasheed Wallace Hoping Draymond Green Breaks His Ejections Record
Retired NBA star Rasheed Wallace was the ultimate "Bad Boy" during his playing days.
So much that he holds the league record with 29 ejections. Wallace is now cheering on another "villain" to stake claim to his crown. On a recent episode of the Gilbert Arenas podcast, Wallace said he wouldn't mind if Green took over the No. 1 spot.
Green needs 12 to tie the mark.
"Lets go," Wallace said. "Let's [expletive] go!!!."
Wallace later added, "I love him, that's my young fella."
Wallace earned most of his reputation with the Detroit Pistons in the early 2000s. He was part of the team that upset the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal-led Los Angeles Lakers in the 2003 Finals. They used their physicality to their advantage.
Wallace said that team played a role in Green's "bully" behavior.
"That's our fault," Wallace said. "When I say our fault, that's my fault. That's Ben Wallace fault. That's Chauncey [Billups] fault. That's Rip Hamilton fault. That's Tayshaun [Prince] fault. That's Corliss [Williamson] fault. Everybody in that locker room because he grew up in the locker room."
A Michigan native, Green was a mainstay in the Pistons locker room for several years.
"One of his best friends was the son of the GM so he was around us, practice, in the locker room, after games, before games," Wallace said. "He heard the different language. We all know it's a different game when the cameras are not there. He heard all that. That's why he's doing the bully shit now."
