Rex Chapman Says He Once Saw NBA Legend Michael Jordan Palm A 17-Pound Bowling Ball
We've heard legendary stories about NBA legend Michael Jordan playing other sports, mostly golf.
But bowling?
Former NBA player Rex Chapman recently shared a story about Jordan impressing at the bowling alley. The subject surfaced when Chapman replied to a highlight collection of Jordan embarrassing defenders with one-handed pump fakes.
"I've watched MJ palm a 17 lb bowling ball without using the holes and bowl a 250," Chapman posted on Twitter.
The story just shows the strength in Jordan's oversized hands. Chapman said only Connie Hawkins and Kawhi Leonard were comparable.
"I have big hands and could pick it up off the dribble with one hand," Chapman tweeted. "Many NBA players can. But NOT under duress. Guys like MJ and Kawhi, and Connie Hawkins are playing a different game."
The most famous moment between Chapman and Jordan occurred during the 1995-96 season. Chapman, then with the Miami Heat, scored 39 points in a victory against the Jordan-led Chicago Bulls.
The Heat handed the Bulls one of their 10 losses that season. Those Bulls are widely considered the best team in league history. They went 15-3 in the playoffs, defeating the Seattle SuperSonics 4-2 in the Finals.
