Cedric Ceballos Believes Suns Should Limit Devin Booker’s Minutes to Prepare for Playoff Push

Cedric Ceballos proposes Devin Booker be limited to rest up for the Suns' eventual playoff appearance.

The Phoenix Suns are currently sixth in the Western Conference and starting down the real possibility of making it to the playoffs this season. A big reason for that is Devin Booker playing at a high level, which includes 27.8 PPG, which is good for 7th in the league.

Despite the Suns being able to depend on Booker, they might also think about potentially resting him. In fact, Cedric Ceballos spoke on this during an episode of Bleav Network's The Inferno. Ceballos believes the team should limit his minutes to prepare for the playoff push.

"Devin is tough. Hopefully, these nagging injuries that have been plaguing him don't come around. Make him a lot stronger. But I think I'm not the coach or the GM, but I would just minimize the minutes, you know. Tell him, 'Hey, Devin, you only playing 20 minutes a day.' Go hard for 10 minutes each half. And you know, Devin's capable of getting 40 and 10 and 20 minutes. You know, he's capable of doing that."

Booker is vastly the most important player on the team, and his health should be of the utmost importance heading into the playoff push. It's not that Booker is constantly hurt, but it would be better to rest his legs a bit to allow him to truly make a mark when the playoffs come around.

His calf and ankle injuries from November might be a thing of the past, but the last thing the Suns need is to have him reaggravate those injuries by being the player who is on the court the most when it does not matter as much.
