Former quarterback Jason Campbell talked about the effects the transfer portal is having on college football on a recent episode of the Everything Auburn podcast.

"The reason college football is college football is because of the rivalry games and the competitiveness and edge that you have," said Campbell. "Slowly and surely, we are losing that step by step."

Campbell played in the SEC and learned a thing or two about the conference's historic rivalries during his time at Auburn. He thinks they should bring back the rule that if a player transfers, they must go to a different conference to prevent players from jumping to rival programs.

"It is going to get to the point where we are missing out on some really great rivalries," said Campbell. "Guys are going to transfer from one rival school to your school or from your school to the rival school."
