Anthony Armstrong Doubles Down on Caleb Williams to the Commanders

Anthony Armstrong joins the Game Plan and doubles down on Commanders taking Caleb Williams in the Draft.
In this story:

There is plenty of attention being placed on the Super Bowl, and rightfully so. The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off in what could be the best Super Bowl battle in the history of the NFL.

Still, right after the big game ends, all eyes will pivot to the upcoming NFL Draft, which is set to also contain some huge drama and opportunities. Anthony Armstrong of Bleav in Commanders joined the Game Plan to give his take on how the draft will shake out.

" Chicago has plenty of holes to fill. And there's questions around Justin Fields. I feel like he's done enough. But with the fact that you have Caleb Williams available is going to bring the attention to potentially drafting him and letting somebody jockey up for that position and then frankly, this past couple of years, Ryan Bowles did a wonderful job navigating the draft.... All the commanders now. Yeah, see, obviously they're going to sit back and stay steady in number two. I don't think they need to trade up and go force themselves and get Caleb Williams. Let him fall to you because you get to address your franchise quarterback, hometown kid saga. I mean, it's going to be great to get him back in the fold."

The Chicago Bears do currently own the #1 pick, and they have an opportunity to stick with Justin Field as their QB and draft two quality players to complement him. One of those payers is Marvin Harrison Jr., who is pegged as the best pass catcher in this draft.

Should this play out the way that Armstrong views it, it could mean that the Commanders will find their franchise quarterback without having to give up crucial assets to do so.
