Chris Hogan Settles Debate Whether Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes Is Better

His answer may surprise some.

After the Kansas City Chiefs finished off the 2023 season with another Super Bowl victory, the common narrative is about quarterback Patrick Mahomes's resume matching up against former quarterback Tom Brady. Brady has been named the greatest of all time (GOAT) for a long time, but Mahomes is the first player to raise any questions about this.

Mahomes has won three Super Bowls at this point in his career, while Brady finished his historic run with seven. The debate has been ongoing, even getting some former teammates of Brady involved.

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan of The Patriots Report discussed who he would pick between Mahomes and Brady.

"Team Brady. From now until they bury me in the earth, but they are two different quarterbacks. But what I do see the similarities in both of them is their leadership ya know on the field. You can just tell that he sees everything now, it doesn't seem like anything is surprising him on the field. And that's what was something that always, you know, I admired about Tom. You couldn't throw anything at him that he had never seen before and he wasn't gonna be surprised because he was prepared."

Hogan complimenting Mahomes in this manner is very high praise for the star quarterback. He has shown who he truly is on the field and is on track to go down as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of football

If Mahomes continues on this current trajectory, he very well may surpass Brady. Nobody ever thought it would happen, but what the Chiefs have been able to accomplish is historic.

They are the first team to go back-to-back since Brady accomplished it with the Patriots in 2004 and 2005. Kansas City will have a chance to three-peat, and if they do, the narrative of Mahomes catching Brady will only grow louder.
