Former NFL QB Matt Simms Says Patrick Mahomes Is "Already Greater Than Tom Brady"

Former NFL QB Matt Simms calls Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes among the greatest QBs of all time while previewing Super Bowl 58.
In this story:

It's Super Bowl week, and we'll be in for a classic duel between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.

It is a rematch of Super Bowl 54 from four seasons ago, and the 49ers will look for their revenge. However, the Chiefs will look to add to their dynasty with the best quarterback in the game today, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes and the Chiefs are seeking their third title in five seasons and to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl winners since the 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots.

Mahomes and the Chiefs sit at the edge of history, but regardless of the outcome, former NFL quarterback Matt Simms believes he's already among the greats in the game.

In the latest 'Simms Complete' episode, Simms calls Mahomes one of the greatest of all time in his young career while previewing the Super Bowl matchup.

"Patrick Mahomes, man, he is just I mean, he's one of one... Patrick Mahomes is absolutely, you know, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time right now, If you retire today, he absolutely is. I think that what he's done in his young career thus far really does make him the greatest quarterback of all time already over Tom Brady. I know that's a bold statement to make, but he just he's done more in a less period of time than Tom Brady has. And he's really been the focal point of the football team for his entire, you know, time here in Kansas City. Whereas Tom Brady, the team was built around him, He eventually became a superstar. Patrick Mahomes is really a superstar from day one and was the heart and soul of the football team from day one."

Simms went on to say he's grown from the moment he stepped in as the QB1 for Kansas City.

Mahomes can prove he is trending on the Brady track by winning his third Super Bowl ring this Sunday, especially if he can lead his team past the ultra-competitive San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes has a chance to build his resume and inch closer to Brady in the 'GOAT' conversation.
