Former OL Joe Valerio Breaks Down the Chiefs Keys to Beating the 49ers in the Super Bowl

Joe Valerio gives his keys to the Chiefs taking down the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Only one game stands in the way of the Kansas City Chiefs taking home their third Super Bowl win under Patrick Mahomes. Despite having a rough season at times, the team has found a way to bounce back when it matters most, giving them a shot at the Lombardi Trophy.

Former offensive lineman for the Chiefs, Joe Valerio, stated on Bleav Network's Bleav in Chiefs what the keys are for Kansas City to take down the San Francisco 49ers.

"If the Chiefs can keep Nick Bosa out of the backfield and keep him from terrorizing Patrick Mahomes and keeping him on his feet. If the Chiefs line can do that and Bosa can't get to Patrick, I really think he shreds this defensive backfield up. I really do. I think. I think it's probably the weak point overall on this San Francisco 49ers defense."

Valerio understands what a lot of teams have understood about the 49ers this season. Their secondary isn't the strongest, and they were exposed by quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Matthew Stafford.

Mahomes is arguably better than both and should have a field day if he is protected from the pass rush of the 49ers.

"If Steve Spagnuolo in his lab over the last two weeks cooked up a game plan that puts a lot of pressure on the young Brock Purdy. We have seen over the course of this year and a little bit in Brock Purdy's career, he doesn't really do well under too much pressure. And he doesn't really sometimes in those big games show up, and he's on the world's biggest stage this Sunday."

Purdy has shown to be beatable when teams get in his face, and it will be up to Spagnuolo to ensure that his team is firing on all cylinders to make Purdy uncomfortable. Chris Jones needs to apply the pressure throughout the day to stop the high-scoring offense the 49ers have.

The 49ers and Chiefs are talented on both sides of the ball, but Mahomes has shown many times over that he can lead his team to victory. It will just be up to the offensive line to hold him down.
