Jesse Holley on Cowboys Signing Eric Kendricks, "Bringing in Kendricks Gives You a Voice"
The Dallas Cowboys have been quiet in free agency, though they did land a big signing with Eric Kendricks. Kendricks comes to the team from the Chargers, and he had initially intended to sign with the 49ers.
Kendricks flipped that commitment to the Cowboys, and his proven leadership is something that can greatly benefit the team. Jesse Holley explains the huge upside in what Kendricks can do for Dallas on Bleav in the Dallas Cowboys.
"For Zimm, bringing in a guy like Erick Kendrick gives you a voice, gives you somebody who can help explain what you want done from a locker room level. Not in the meeting room, but he can take guys...even Micah Parsons, even Tank Lawrence, take these guys under their wing or around the shoulder, say, 'Hey, here's what Coach was actually talking about. Here's what he means. Hey, let's go watch this and I can show you guys how we did it over here.'"

Even though Kendricks isn't the biggest signing of free agency, he is a player who can help the younger players in the Cowboys locker room elevate their game. Kendricks has played nine seasons in the NFL, with most coming with the Vikings.
He signed a deal with the Chargers in 2023 but has since been allowed to walk. He has amassed 18.5 sacks in his career and has been a stalwart linebacker.
The Cowboys have been a bit stingy in terms of contracts handed out, but at least they didn't overpay for Kendricks. And he will offer a huge upside in terms of being able to guide the young defensive stars the play for Dallas.
