Butch Goring Makes a Plea to NHL on TNT to Put Him On Panel with Paul "Biz" Bissonnette
The biggest rivalry in the NHL this season isn't on the ice. It's between 4-time Stanley Cup Champion Butch Goring and former NHL enforcer, host of 'Spittin Chiclets' and TNT analyst Paul Bissonnette, who is widely known as Biz.
Their feud has been going on for years but heated up this season when Bissonette criticized Islanders fans for booing their former star, Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares, after he scored 1,000 career points.
The Twitter exchanges between Bissonnette and Goring have continued throughout the season, grabbing the attention of NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Last week, TNT host and Islanders fan Liam McHugh gifted Biz a birthday t-shirt with a picture of Butch Goring, hoping this might be the first step towards reconciliation.
Peter Schwartz, host of The Double Chili podcast on the Bleav Network, caught up with Butch Goring at an Islander alumni event and discussed the ongoing Twitter war with Biz.
Goring said, "I don't know what he's doing, but I'm having fun, and the fans are having fun. All these people are coming up to me and saying, keep giving it to him." Goring also expressed his eagerness to be invited on TNT: "I'd love to do something with TNT and be on the panel with Biz."
Now, the question is, will TNT put Butch on the panel alongside Biz? Will this beef get settled? Your move, TNT. It all remains to be seen if this face-off will happen.
