Jonny Lazarus and Michael Del Zotto share their take on which teams are elite in the NHL and if the New York Rangers are included in that group.

On a recent episode of The Blue Crew podcast, co-hosts Jonny Lazarus and Michael Del Zotto talked about what category they would put the New York Rangers in at this point in the year. New York is currently in first place in the Eastern Conference with 47 points on the season.

“If you look at them in the standings, you would have them in the elite category, but I would put them in the very good category,” said Del Zotto. “I don’t think they are elite just yet, and really, the only team I would put in the elite category is Vegas.”

Del Zotto noted that the Rangers sometimes play down to the level of their opponent, something that elite teams do not do. The Rangers are favored against the Capitals on Wednesday, according to BetOnline.
