Pat Maroon Reflects on Celebrating Three Straight Stanley Cups

After winning three straight we all know Pat Maroon has some stories on the celebrations the boys had with the Stanley Cup.

Pat Maroon was on the Snipes and Stripes podcast and talked about what it was like to celebrate the Stanley Cup three years in a row. The left winger won the first time with his hometown, St. Louis Blues, in 2019, and then two more times with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021.

“When you watch other parades, they are on the float, and they are just waving. In St. Louis, we were so hammered. Eventually, I was like, screw it, I am getting off my float, like, what are we doing waving? That seems so boring, and then once we did that, everyone got off their float,” said Maroon.

Due to Covid-19, the Lighting had their 2020 and 2021 parades on the water. He said it was fun to be on the boats, but the celebrations were a little hectic.

“It was funny because we were passing the cup back and forth from each boat, some guys had it on jet skis. The cup keeper must have been having a heart attack because the Stanley Cup is on a jet ski in the middle of the bay,” said Maroon.
