KSI Expresses Concerns Over Jake Paul's Fight Against Mike Tyson On Netflix
When Jake Paul fights Mike Tyson, the 57-year-old former heavyweight world champion, on July 20th on Netflix, YouTuber KSI (Olajide Olatunji) worries that Jake Paul is in a losing situation.
KSI doesn't see how 27-year-old Jake Paul(9-1, 6KOs) beats Tyson because, should he prevail, supporters will undermine his accomplishment by pointing out that he defeated a middle-aged fighter who hasn't competed in a professional match in nearly 20 years. Should Jake lose to Tyson, it will damage his career even more than it was when he lost to Tommy Fury—a boxer who is more of a celebrity than a professional fighter.
All that is known about him is that he is Tyson Fury's untalented half-brother. Even Tommy was beyond Jake's reach. On the bright side, even if Jake from the United States loses the battle against Tyson, he will still walk away with his largest-ever payoff.
“I just feel Jake’s legacy will be, ‘He can knock out old people,” said KSI in media reports.
“I think it’s super sad. I don’t know why Jake took it. It’s a lose-lose. If he knocks out Mike Tyson, and he’s beaten an OAP. Old age pension. He’s 57. Mike Tyson is 57-years-old. Yes, in his prime, this would have been crazy, but now, it’s just sad," he added.
“There’s going to be so many people watching. Millions and millions. Everyone is going to know him as a guy that knocked out an old Mike Tyson,” he continued.
The combat exists only as a show to draw spectators in. If not for the opportunity to be seen by millions, earn a ton of money, and get more notoriety, why would Jake be interested in taking on Mike Tyson? Jake should challenge either Mairis Briedis or former IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia if he were truly interested in fighting a worthy opponent.
That's the main issue in this fight: money. Obviously, Jake can live with himself whether he wins or loses because the money will be so great that it will ease his disappointment or guilt about the result and allow him to accept who he is.
“I still think he [Tyson] can hit hard, but can he take hits? At his age, if you get hit by one solid Jake Paul punch, you’re prune juice,” said Logan Paul on his concerns regarding Mike Tyson's ability to take a good shot at 57
