Butts will be filling seats at Target Center when Minneapolis hosts the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament March 6-10 — and if you want to go you better act fast because tickets are limited.

“For the coming upcoming Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, a full two weeks away, just 1,900 tickets remain until a complete sell out of the Target Center,” a spokesperson from the Big Ten told Bring Me The Sports on Tuesday.

“We’re anticipating more than 109,000 fans across the 7 sessions.”

The tournament will be held March 6-10. There are 13 games across seven sessions, meaning there could be around 16,000 people in the stands per session.

  • Session 1: 2 night games on March 6 (first round)
  • Session 2: 2 early games on March 7 (second round)
  • Session 3: 2 night games on March 7 (second round)
  • Session 4: 2 early games on March 8 (quarterfinals)
  • Session 5: 2 night games on March 8 (quarterfinals)
  • Session 6: 2 afternoon games on March 9 (semifinals)
  • Session 7: 1 morning game (11 a.m.) on March 10 (championship)

It very well could be the Caitlin Clark effect. Clark is the most dominant player in college basketball and en route to becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer she has guided the Iowa Hawkeyes to the No. 4 ranking in the country.

Clark and Iowa are due to face the Gophers at Williams Arena in Minneapolis on Feb. 28. That game has been sold out for months in anticipation of her arrival.

Minnesota (15-10, 5-10 Big Ten) is currently 11th in the Big Ten standings, which puts them on track to face the 14 seed in the second game of the conference tournament on March 6.
