Former Gophers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell appears to be the latest player frustrated about his exit from Green Bay.

Campbell, who recently signed with the San Francisco 49ers, was cut by the Packers at the start of free agency on Wednesday. Responding to an anonymous Twitter poster who accused him of trashing the Packers, Campbell said he never did trash the organization, and that it was the “best organization I’ve ever been (a part) of.”

"Best organization I’ve ever been apart of at this point but it’s some coaches I lost ALL respect for," he added.

Another Twitter user responded with a screen shot of a post Campbell liked that read: “GB is the worst team on how they treat the (players) on their way out.”

“The organization didn’t even call me to ask if I wanted to take a pay cut,” Campbell responded. “They just released me after going in the media and saying me and Aaron (Jones) were (a part) of the future plans. They could’ve just told me the truth. I could easily be bitter but I’m not.”

Jones, who agreed to a deal with the Vikings on March 12, was asked to take a pay cut by the Packers, and the two sides were unable to reach an agreement, ultimately landing Jones in Minnesota.

Jones’ likes on Twitter also appeared to show some frustration with the Packers.

The move to release Campbell saved the Packers about $10.5 million in cap space. Campbell previously took to social media to criticize the Packers after a Week 15 loss to the Packers, saying he is “not playing through injuries anymore cause when (expletive) goes wrong they always use it against you.” Green Bay had not listed him on the injury report for that game.
