Maybe a change of scenery wasn't enough for Royce White.

Former Maxim model Tania Mehra, White's alleged ex-girlfriend, filed a police report August 30 alleging the former Gopher recruit and Hopkins high school standout assaulted her. A picture of her with a laceration above her eye acquired by TMZ.com can be found here.

The incident supposedly occurred June 22. At the time, Mehra told police on a 911 call that she had suffered an "accidental fall." She now says she said that to protect White's pro basketball career.

White was drafted out of Iowa State (after a transfer out of Minnesota) by the Houston Rockets 16th overall in 2012, but didn't play a game for Houston while in conflict with the team about a variety of things, including playing time and his anxiety disorder.

He rejected an assignment to the D-League, was subsequently suspended, and when the suspension was lifted White reported to the the Rockets D-League affiliate, playing on and off the rest of the season.

White was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, and had been trouble-free until these claims by Mehra.

No charges have been filed, but police say White is "under investigation" for the incident.
