Gopher hockey captain and Lakeville native signs with the Wild
After four stellar years at the University of Minnesota, Justin Kloos signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Wild on Wednesday. The deal won't begin until next season.
Kloos served as captain for the last two years at the U of M. The Lakeville native tallied 150 points during his NCAA career.
He helped the Gophers to four-straight conference championships and was part of the 2014 team that made it to the national championship game.
At Lakeville South High School, Kloos won the Mr. Hockey Award in 2012.
Kloos will join former Gophers such as Mike Reilly, Erik Haula and Jordan Schoreder who are all in the Wild's organization.
He's also the third player from this year's Gopher men's hockey team to turn pro, as Vinni Lettieri and Jake Bischoff signed professional contracts earlier this week.
