Wyatt Gilmore, the No. 2-rated football recruit from Minnesota in the class of 2024, announced Wednesday night his commitment to the University of Oklahoma.

Gilmore picked the Sooners over offers from other Power 5 programs including Minnesota, Miami, Oregon, Kansas State, Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue and Wisconsin.

According to 247Sports, Gilmore, an edge rusher and tight end from Rogers High School, is a four-star recruit and ranks second in Minnesota's graduating class of 2024 behind Gophers commit Koi Perich, who is a safety from Esko.

The rankings really depend on where you look. According to Rivals, Gilmore ranks third in Minnesota's class of 2024 behind Irondale offensive guard Emerson Mandell and Prior Lake edge rusher Jide Abasiri. Mandell has yet to commit while Abasir is committed to the Gophers.

Gilmore's numbers in the gym are the stuff of athletic specimens. According to his Twitter bio, Gilmore bench-presses 370 pounds, squats 485 pounds, has a 9'10'' broad jump and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds. Not bad for a 6-foot-4, 250-pound kid.
