It's National Signing Day and Esko High School safety Koi Perich has officially signed with the Minnesota Golden Gophers

Putting pen to paper on Wednesday morning confirmed that Perich, the No. 1-rated recruit in Minnesota and one of the best players in the country, stayed true to his April verbal commitment to the Gophers despite a late rally by the likes of Ohio State and Florida State to lure him away.

Perich was set to visit Florida State, but canceled after visiting Ohio State earlier this month. His visit led to some speculation that the Buckeyes would get him to flip this commitment, but it never happened.

The 6-foot-1 safety is rated by 247Sports as a 4-star recruit, ranked 85th overall in the country. Recruiting service On3 ranks Perich 53rd nationally. Before the 2023 prep season, he was included on a list of the "10 biggest freaks" in the 2024 recruiting class.
