According to the Star Tribune's Marcus Fuller, Minnesota Golden Gophers guard Both Gach is entering the transfer portal, marking the latest player to depart since the hiring of head coach Ben Johnson.

Gach transferred to Minnesota last season after spending his first two seasons at Utah. The junior got off to a great start averaging 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in seven non-conference games but his production slowed once Minnesota got into Big Ten play.

For the season, Gach averaged 6.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29 games before having surgery on his foot in March.

The Gopher roster has been in turmoil since Richard Pitino was fired and Johnson was selected as his replacement. Gach is the 10th player from last year's team to enter the transfer portal and sophomore forward Isiah Ihnen is the only player set to return.

In response, the Gophers have signed six transfers for next season including five guards. William & Mary's Luke Loewe, Lafayette's E.J. Stephens, New Hampshire's Sean Sutherlin, and Charleston's Payton Willis will make up the backcourt while George Washington's Jamison Battle will join the frontcourt.

With five scholarships remaining, Johnson's recruiting ability will be tested early as the Gophers will have an entirely new roster next season.
