Voted All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by the coaches in 2022, defensive tackle DeAngelo "Trill" Carter is looking for a new home to play college football in 2023.

Carter, a stalwart on the interior of the Minnesota Gophers defensive line, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to 247 Sports.

Minnesota began spring practices earlier this week and on Tuesday Carter posted to Twitter a video supporting Dinkytown Athletes, which is the program that helps connect players to NIL (name, image, likeness) deals.

Carter has played a big role on Minnesota's defense the past two seasons. In 2022, he had 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hits. He started 11 games as a sophomore in 2021. Wherever he goes, he'll have two years of eligibility remaining.

There have been nine Gophers to enter the transfer portal since the end of the 2022 season.

  • Beanie Bishop, CB
  • Austin Booker, DL
  • Trill Carter, DL
  • Michael Dixon, CB
  • Jalen Glaze, CB
  • Gage Keys, DL
  • Braelen Oliver, LB
  • Steven Ortiz, CB
  • Donald Willis, LB

The Gophers will have two spring practices open to the public on March 28 and April 4, with the annual spring game happening April 22.
