Lynx marks Sylvia Fowles jersey retirement with emotions, beatboxing, and a win

The Minnesota Lynx raise Sylvia Fowles' famous "34" to the rafters of Target Center after marking her jersey retirement with a comeback win Sunday evening.
The legendary center, who led the Lynx to WNBA titles in 2015 and 2017 with MVP performances in the finals, watched as the banner unfurled next to the number 32 of her former teammate Rebekkah Brunson.

The Lynx even managed to mark the occasion with a win, recording their first home victory of the season with an 11-point comeback in the final minutes to beat the Los Angeles Sparks 91-86.
Fowles racked up myriad personal accolades between her time at the Chicago Sky (2008-14) and the Lynx (2015-22), including being named MVP in 2017 and WNBA Defensive Player of the Year four times (2011, 2013, 2016 and 2021).
The Lynx posted a video featuring emotional tributes from teammates and coach Cheryl Reeve.

Speaking in person at Fowles' ceremony, making her first appearance at Target Center since her retirement, was Lynx legend Maya Moore, who Fowles hinted in her speech is going to be the next player whose jersey is retired.
"That's pretty amazing. It's no better feeling to be up there with The Mayor, The Sniper and The Machine. We got The Assassin coming soon."
