Game 1 of the best-of-three playoff series between the Lynx and Sun was a blowout as Connecticut smoked Minnesota 90-60 Wednesday night.

The Lynx, the No. 6 seed, were punished from start to finish by the third-seeded Sun, who outscored Minnesota 28-16 in the second quarter to take a 14-point lead into the half. The lead grew to 17 after three quarters and the fourth quarter was all Connecticut en route to the 30-point victory.

Game 2, which is a must-win for Minnesota, is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT Sunday.

Minnesota shot 35% for the game and a dismal 20% (5 of 25) from 3-point range. Connecticut was the opposite, knocking down 47.1% of its shots including a lights-out 16 of 30 from 3.

The Lynx beat the Sun just once in four games during the regular season. Now they need to beat them twice to keep the season alive.
