Minnesota United announced Friday that they've suspended star Emmanuel Reynoso without pay for failure to report to the club's preseason training.

Reynoso, 27, has missed all of the team's preseason training. Minnesota United's season kicks off Feb. 25 in Dallas.

In a statement Friday the club said, "Emanuel Reynoso has been suspended without pay by Major League Soccer for failure to report to preseason training. We have no additional information beyond that at this time."

The club have previously stated Reynoso remained in Argentina on a "personal matter" but wouldn't go into further detail.

Reynoso faces the possibility of a trial in Argentina for an assault charge in December 2021.

The two-time All-Star has been the team's key playmaker since joining the club in 2020. Reynoso scored 10 goals and registered 6 assists for MNUFC last season.
