Here are the brackets for the 2023 Minnesota boys' state hockey tournament
"The Tourney" begins Wednesday in St. Paul.
It's that time of the year for Minnesotans as the 2023 boys' state hockey tournament will start on Wednesday morning at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Class A will take the ice first for the quarterfinals on Wednesday before Class AA holds its quarterfinals on Thursday. The semifinals for both classes will take place on Friday with the Class A championship set for 12 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Class AA championship at 7 p.m.
Minnetonka is the top seed in Class AA with a record of 26-2-0 while Warroad earned the No. 1 seed in Class A with a record of 27-0-1. Here's a look at the rest of the quarterfinal matchups.
Class A – Wednesday, March 8
- 11 a.m. – No. 2 Hermantown (25-2-1) vs. Luverne (21-6-1)
- 1 p.m. – No. 3 Mahtomedi (20-8-0) vs. Alexandria (14-12-1)
- 6 p.m. – No. 1 Warroad (27-0-1) vs. St. Cloud Cathedral (16-12)
- 8 p.m. – No. 4 Orono (23-5-0) vs. No. 5 Northfield (23-5-0)
Class AA – Thursday, March 9
- 11 a.m. – No. 2 Maple Grove (22-5-1) vs. Cretin-Durham Hall (18-9-1)
- 1 p.m. – No. 3 Edina (20-6-1) vs. Moorhead (19-9-0)
- 6 p.m. – No. 1 Minnetonka (26-2-0) vs. Hill-Murray (14-13-1)
- 8 p.m. – No. 4 Andover (21-6-1) vs. Lakeville South (21-6-1)
