There are plenty of semifinals Monday-Wednesday, with championship games set for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

After Warroad and Gentry Academy won state championships in girls hockey on Saturday, the boys section tournaments have reached what many consider to be the most exciting week of prep hockey in the country: section championship week, which will set the stage for the unveiling of the state tournament brackets next weekend. 

Here's a section-by-section look at the teams still standing entering this pivotal week. 

Class AA

Section 1 championship 

  • #1 Lakeville South vs. #3 Lakeville North
  • Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Rec Center

Section 2 championship

  • #1 Chanhassen vs. #2 Minnetonka
  • Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at Braemar Ice Arena in Edina

Section 3 championship

  • #1 St. Thomas Academy vs. #2 Cretin-Derham Hall
