Providence Academy guard Maddyn Greenway scored her 3,000th career point in Friday night's game against Maple Grove.

While the Lions lost to the Crimson 86-80, Greenway scored 44 points in the defeat connecting on a transition 3-pointer from her sister Beckett to reach the 3,000-point milestone.

Greenway's milestone is even more impressive since she is only a sophomore. The daughter of former Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, Greenway made her varsity debut during the 2020-21 season as a seventh-grader and averaged a team-high 21.0 points per game as the Lions lost to Albany in the Class AA State Championship Game.

Greenway averaged 23.7 points per game during the 2021-22 season and averaged 31.8 points per game while leading the Lions to a second straight state championship last season.

After scoring her 2,000th career point last February, Greenway has picked up where she left off, averaging 33.4 points per game while leading Providence Academy to a 17-4 record this season.

With the Gophers, Creighton, Iowa, Michigan, Iowa State, Wisconsin, South Dakota State, Maryland and UCLA among schools offering a scholarship, the Class of 2026 guard figures to have a bright future even with more than two years left in her high school career.
