Giddey has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an underage individual. According to the Los Angeles Times, police in Newport Beach, California, are investigating the allegations to see if there is any validity to them.

The accusations fueled a boisterous crowd inside Target Center in Minneapolis as fans belted Giddey with a barrage of boos every time he touched the ball in Minnesota's 106-103 win.

NBA spokesperson Mike Bass confirmed this week that the league is looking into the allegations, but Giddey's status with the Thunder has yet to be affected as he's played in both games since the accusations arose last week.

“I understand the question obviously but no, there is no further comment right now,” Giddey said when asked about the claims. “I get the questions guys, I completely understand you guys want to know about it, but just for right now I don’t have anything to say.”

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said the situation is "obviously a league matter" and that "the ball's in their court" on how to handle the issue.
