Magazine ranks Andrew Wiggins No. 31 in their NBA Top 50
SLAM magazine is counting down the top 50 players in the NBA and they think very highly of young Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins.
The magazine says Wiggins is the 31st best player in the NBA which is pretty remarkable considering Wiggins is just 21-years-old.
With Tom Thibodeau taking over as coach, Kevin Garnett's retirement, the excitement surrounding Karl-Anthoy Towns and incoming rookie Kris Dunn, Slam repeats throughout the article how they, "forgot about Andrew Wiggins."
"With all the changes, diversions, press releases, dunk contests, ankle surgeries and the waves of optimism," said SLAM "It seems that somewhere, one of the most crucial members of that rising wave—Andrew Wiggins—seems to have been lost in the shuffle."
The former Rookie of the Year averaged 20 points per game in his sophomore season and improved his field goal percentage from 43 percent to 46 percent.
With Thibodeau at the helm, SLAM says the new coach should, "maximize his potential to greater individual and team success."
Wiggns' ranking is even more impressive considering some of the players who are ranked below him. Mike Conley, Gordon Hayward, Dwight Howard, and Dirk Nowitzki are all ranked below Wiggins.
Even former Timberwolves forward Kevin Love who was traded to acquire Wiggins is ranked below the 21-year-old.
