If the Timberwolves are in the market for a 3-and-D wing, two names to keep eyes on this summer surfaced on Tuesday: Bruce Brown and Donte DiVincenzo. We wrote about the Brown steam earlier, but there's a new development on DiVincenzo courtesy of KSTP-TV's Darren Wolfson.

"I do think DiVincenzo is a bit more realistic. My understanding is, Donte DiVincenzo has a lot of interest in playing here in Minnesota," Wolfson said Tuesday on SKOR North's Mackey & Judd

DiVincenzo, 26, reportedly declined his $4.7 million player option with the Golden State Warriors, meaning he's free to sign where he wants. Yahoo! Sports' Jake Fischer was the first to report that Minnesota has been "linked" to Brown and DiVincenzo.

"Checking with people, yes, I believe that information is spot on. I just don't know if you're getting Bruce, if he leaves Denver, to come here to Minnesota," said Wolfson when talking about Fischer's information.

DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 26.3 minutes per game with the Warriors this past season. He spent the 2021-22 season with Sacramento after spending the first four years of his career in Milwaukee, where he won a championship in 2020-21.

"It does seem like the Wolves want to be very, very active when free agency opens early Friday evening," Wolfson added, noting that Minnesota wants to upgrade its backup point guard situation and find guards with both offensive and defensive position flexibility. That could be a bad sign for Jordan McLaughlin, who was the primary backup point guard when healthy the last two seasons.
