Rubio reflects on his time in Minnesota, says goodbye in heartfelt Instagram post
"I remember arriving here like it was yesterday."
Friday, news broke that the Timberwolves had traded point guard Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz for a 2018 first-round pick in the NBA Draft.
Then Saturday morning, Rubio went to Instagram to say goodbye in a lengthy, heartfelt post.
"Basketball brought me here 6 years ago. I didn't know much about Minnesota, and now I'm proud to call it home," he started.
The post goes on to thank fans, the team and coaches, particularly Flip Saunders.
"I gave my best night after night. I'm sorry we couldn't make the playoffs because you deserve it."
