The Timberwolves on Wednesday morning unveiled new uniforms that they'll wear on select occasions during the season.

Known as the City Edition jersey style, the baby blue uniforms honor Minneapolis and St. Paul with "MSP" in bold lettering across the front. You can see a full photo gallery from the Wolves here

Minnesota will wear the new uniforms five times this season:

  • Dec. 13 vs. Los Angeles Clippers
  • Jan. 24 vs. Houston Rockets
  • Feb. 21 vs. Boston Celtics
  • Mar. 6 vs. Orlando Magic
  • Apr. 15 vs. New York Knicks

The team says the new look "celebrates the people, places, art, food, music, and culture that makes the Twin Cities the Twin Cities," in addition to them representing "spirit of MSP, and the authentic Minnesota heritage we share."

If they look kind of familiar, it might be because the 2018 City Edition worn by the Los Angeles Lakers featured "MPLS" across the front as an ode to the Minneapolis Lakers. But those uniforms were a slightly different shade of blue with yellow lettering.

The 2020 City Edition uniforms will take the place of the 2019 version, which were the ultra-popular Prince-themed uniforms.
