After wrapping up an unbeaten preseason schedule the Minnesota Timberwolves are now setting up shop for the regular season to begin next Wednesday when the go on the road to face the Toronto Raptors.

The first move to get the roster ready was the decision to release four players on Friday: Matt Ryan, Trevor Keels, Tyrese Martin and D.J. Carton.

An NBA roster can include 15 players plus three players on two-way contracts. Players on two-way contracts typically spend the bulk of their time in the G League, and for the Timberwolves the lucky winners of two-way contracts are Nix, Luka Garza and Jaylen Clark.

That leaves 15 players to fill out the roster. Let's break it down...

The starters

  • Mike Conley
  • Anthony Edwards
  • Jaden McDaniels
  • Karl-Anthony Towns
  • Rudy Gobert

The primary backups

  • Shake Milton
  • Nickeil Alexander-Walker
  • Kyle Anderson
  • Naz Reid

The others

  • Troy Brown Jr.
  • Jordan McLaughlin
  • Leonard Miller
  • Josh Minott
  • Wendell Moore Jr.
  • Vit Krejci

That makes 15 players, plus the three two-way guys (Garza, Clark and Nix). Boom. That's the roster barring any additional moves now through Wednesday.
