The Minnesota Wild's hot streak continued with a huge win over Central Division rivals the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.

With the 4-2 win, the Wild move three points clear of Colorado and Dallas for first place in the Central.

While the Avs still have a game in hand, it was a crucial for Minnesota to win to keep up their aspirations to win the Central.

Leading the win was Freddy Gaudreau, who scored two short-handed goals on a night the Wild were otherwise outshot 44-29 by the Avs, including a 19-4 deficit in the third period.

Marcus Johansson had opened the scoring on an incredible assist from Joel Eriksson-Ek, with Sam Steel the other Wild scorer.

Next up for the Wild is a trip to Vegas to face the Golden Knights. Puck drop at 9 p.m. Saturday night.
