Ex-Twin Delmon Young is getting another chance.
After getting dumped by the Phillies earlier this month, he’s been picked up by the team that first drafted him -- the Tampa Bay Rays.
Young will report to Class AA ball in Montgomery, according to WLTV in Jacksonville, Fla.
Young was designated for assignment by Philadelphia Aug. 9, then released five days later by the club after clearing waivers and refusing an outright assignment to Class AAA.
Young, 27, signed a one-year contract with the Phillies over the winter after helping the Detroit Tigers to a World Series appearance.
He spent three-plus seasons with the Twins before being traded to Detroit during the 2011 season.
