Joe Mauer buys $6 million Lake Minnetonka home with cash
Twins first baseman Joe Mauer took out his wallet in June and paid $6.2 million in cash for a Woodland home on Lake Minnetonka's Wayzata Bay, the Business Journal reports.
The BizJournal says he bought through a Florida-based limited liability corporation of which he's the president, and that he paid for the property in cash.
He probably couldn't fit that much money into his wallet so we'll just assume it was in a James Bond-like briefcase, or something. Mauer signed an eight-year, $184 million contract with the Twins in 2011, meaning he's due $23 million in 2017 and 2018 before his contract expires.

Mauer's 6,500 square foot palace has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a "four-car or more garage."

The Star Tribune reports the house is on 3.1 acres, with 115 feet of shoreline on the south side of Wayzata Bay in Woodland.
The tax bill for 2015 was almost $50,000 the newspaper added.
