A historic grand slam from Royce Lewis and a three-run bomb from Jorge Polanco sent the Twins seven games clear of the Cleveland Guardians with a 10-6 win Monday night.

After Bo Naylor's two-run home run capped off a four-run top of the 2nd for the Guardians, Lewis crushed his second grand slam in as many days – the first Twin to ever do it back-to-back – as the Twins responded immediately with six runs.

Cleveland scored on a fielders choice in the top of the third to draw within one but Matt Wallner restored the two-run lead with a 438-foot homer to right center field.

Steven Kwan hit an RBI double in the top of the fourth to bring Cleveland within one run for the second consecutive inning before Polanco's fourth inning blast settled the Monday night slug fest at Target Field.

Kenta Maeda allowed six earned runs in four innings of work, striking out just three Cleveland batters. Kody Funderburk struck out three batters while not allowing a hit in his major league debut, while Josh Winder closed out the game setting down the next nine Cleveland batters.

Next up: Twins and Guardians at Target Field with first pitch set for 6:40p.m. Tuesday night.
