Royce Lewis called up to St. Paul Saints, a step closer to Twins return
Lewis went 12-for-40 (.300) with two homers in 12 games with the Twins in 2022
Royce Lewis is another step closer to returning to the Twins lineup after getting called up to join the Triple-A St. Paul Saints.
Lewis went 2-6 bringing in an RBI last weekend with the Twins' AA affiliate the Wichita Wind Surge.
The Twins have until June 1 to decide whether to bring Lewis up to the majors or keep him with the St. Paul Saints, according to MLB's rules on rehab assignments.
Lewis tore his ACL for the second time in 15 months early last season.
The 23-year old went 12-for-40 (.300) with two homers in 12 games with the Twins in 2022 before the injury cut his first stint in the majors short.
The Saints are in Columbus for a six game series against the Triple A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, the Columbus Clippers.
