Twins finish with 101 wins, set new MLB home run mark
The Royals beat the Twins 5-4 on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Alex Gordon in the bottom of the ninth inning to wrap up regular season Sunday afternoon.
The loss keeps the Twins from tying the team record of 102 wins set by the 1965 club, but the 101-61 mark won them the AL Central title and puts them in line to face the New York Yankees in a best-of-five playoff series beginning Friday at Yankee Stadium.

Times have not been announced, but all of the games will be televised on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and on the radio via WCCO-AM 830.
The Twins didn't win Sunday's game but they did slug a trio of homers to pass the Yankees and win the home run race, setting an all-time record by doing so.
Minnesota entered Sunday trailing the Yankees 305 to 304 for the home run lead, but long balls by C.J. Cron, Jake Cave and Jason Castro put the Twins' final tally at 307. The Yankees got a home run from Aaron Judge on Sunday but that was it, giving them a final total of 306.
