Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, utilityman Luis Arraez, and pitcher Dylan Bundy have tested positive for COVID-19 prior to Thursday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

The team announced that bench coach Jayce Tingler will manage the team in Baldelli's absence including the series finale against the Orioles. Tingler spent the last two seasons managing the San Diego Padres, where he led them to a 116-106 record and a playoff appearance in 2020.

Arraez and Bundy tested positive after both played in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles, with Arraez going 1-for-2 with two walks at the plate and Bundy allowing a season-high nine runs.

According to the Star Tribune's Megan Ryan, general manager Thad Levine said that some players were dealing with a non-COVID-related illness this week. He also confirmed that the team is testing team personnel who were close contacts and distributing facemasks in the clubhouse.

This news comes after the Twins played a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays, who currently have four coaches that tested positive for COVID.

Minnesota has won 11 of its last 13 games and will look to win the four-game series on Thursday night.
