Twins offer $5 tickets for all remaining home games for a limited time
The Minnesota Twins, in the midst of one of the most disappointing seasons in the major leagues, are hoping to lure fans to the ballpark with a limited-time, $5 ticket deal.
Starting Thursday, May 20, and running through 10 p.m. central on Monday, May 24, there will be a limited number of $5 tickets available in "select locations of Target Field."
This will apply to all 58 remaining home games from May 24 onward — but the deal is only available through 10 p.m. Monday. A cursory glance shows the applicable sections are upper deck, from about first and third base stretching into the outfield.
The goal of the "Summer Fun" deal, as the Twins have dubbed it, is to provide "an accessible, fun way" for people to spend time together as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wane.
Speaking of, the Twins will be relaxing capacity guidelines in the weeks and months ahead, and are no longer requiring physical distancing or mask-wearing (though the team is strongly encouraging the use of face coverings).
During the rest of May, the Twins will allow 60% capacity at Target Field. In June, it'll increase to 80% capacity, and beginning July 5, the plan is to go to full capacity. This is all subject to change based on public health developments, however.
And hey, even if the losses keep piling up, fans can watch and imagine what draft phenom Elijah Green might look like on the squad next year.
