The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Max Kepler on the 10-day injured list as he misses a fourth straight game Sunday with a knee injury.

The roster move is retroactive to April 5, two days after Kepler left a game Monday in Miami. He was since diagnosed with right patellar tendinitis. He's eligible to return from the injured list on April 15.

Taking Kepler's spot on the 26-man roster is Matt Wallner, the Forest Lake native who is one of the Twins' top prospects. Wallner has 51 homers in the minor leagues. He made his MLB debut last season and played 18 games with the Twins.

Meanwhile, outfielder Joey Gallo isn't in the lineup Sunday but manager Rocco Baldelli said they got "good news" after Gallo left Saturday's game with a sore right side.

Outfield depth is being tested early this season as Kepler, Alex Kirilloff and Gilbert Celestino are all on the injured list, and Byron Buxton has started the season as the designated hitter to keep him fresh for as long as possible.
