Twins: Target Field to return to 100% capacity from July 5
The Minnesota Twins are increasing capacity at Target Field over the next several weeks, with plans to host games at 100% capacity starting July 5.
The Twins announced the news Thursday, a week after Gov. Tim Walz shared the state's timeline for ending COVID-19 restrictions.
For the 12 home games between May 14-May 30, Target Field will operate at up to 60% capacity. For the team's 12 home games in June, capacity will be up to 80% and starting July 5, Target Field will have full capacity for the final 40 home games of the season.
“Our fans are what make baseball great, as they truly transform Target Field into our home ballpark, and a day or evening at the Twins game into lifelong memories,” said club President & CEO Dave St. Peter.
“To that end, we are grateful that our state and region continue to be on a path toward improved health and a return to normalcy, and we are absolutely thrilled to begin our measured, responsible and safe ramp up to 100 percent capacity at the ballpark. We look forward to continue bringing our community together through Twins baseball this season, and we cannot wait to see – and hear – a full house at Target Field.”
Tickets for the May games are on sale now and will be sold in pods of two or four. Tickets for the rest of the season go on sale May 20, and season ticket holders will get to return to their normal seat locations and seats won't be restricted to pods.
The Twins will still offer a limited number of physically distanced seats during the 2021 season by request by calling 1-800-33-TWINS.
There will be no physical distancing requirements at Target Field come May 14, but fans two and older will still be required to wear face masks, except when actively eating or drinking, until further notice.
