Jorge Lopez, the former All-Star closer whom the Twins traded for last summer, has now been dealt by the Twins to the Miami Marlins. Minnesota announced the trade Wednesday following an 8-7 loss to the Mariners, saying they have received right-hander Dylan Flores in exchange for Lopez.

Floro, 32, is a right-hander with some late-inning relief experience. This season, he owns a 3-5 record with seven saves and a 4.54 ERA in 45 appearances. He's struck out 41 batters in 39.1 innings.

Lopez, 30, has a 5.09 ERA amid struggles that have cost him his role as a dependable late-inning reliever. That's the role the Twins will give to Floro, presumably, since he has done so with the Marlins this season.

Floro's 4.54 ERA is suspect, but his 2.78 FIP suggests that his ERA is inflated due to things out of his control. Lopez has a 6.00 FIP.

Floro is a free agent after the season.
